Chopard
Chopard bijoux are tailor-made for the spotlight. Whether it’s a  diamond-and-sapphire cuff with divine cutout work or a showstopping pair of diamond-and-peridot earrings, Chopard finds the link between monumentality and wearibility. “The big pieces have to be lightweight,” explains  Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co-president and creative director of the feted Swiss company, whose celebrity following includes Gwyneth Paltrow (at left), Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson.Learn more about the jeweler at chopard.com.

From top: Temple St. Clair’s 18k yellow gold, aquamarine, moonstone, sapphire and diamond cuff, $70,000, 800.590.7985, templestclair.com; Martin  Katz’s 18k white gold, moonstone and diamond ring, $65,000, at Martin Katz, Beverly Hills and New York, 866.956.7200, martinkatz.com Gioia’s 18k white gold, moonstone and diamond brooch, $185,000, at Gioia, New York, 212.223.3146; Tiffany & Co’s platinum, moonstone and sapphire medallion necklace, $100,000, at Tiffany & Co., 800.526.0649.
Moonstones shimmer in all manner of settings.  Possessing a quiet mystery, moonstones are decidedly spiri-tual gems. In India, the luminous rocks are thought to provoke vivid dreams, while Arabic women are known to sew them into their clothes for good luck. There are, of course, more immediate ways to grasp a piece of their magic. Take  Gioia’s iridescent brooch, twinkling with diamonds that sway gently, evoking the undulations of a jellyfish, or Tiffany’s large cabochon  stone, fashioned into a pendant and modeled after a pin that Louis Comfort Tiffany designed in the early 20th century. Temple St. Clair’s cluster cuff features a bright, watery combination of moonstones and aquamarine, while Martin Katz’s whimsical ring, its stone set among 480 tiny  diamonds, will surely stir nighttime reveries.By Sarah Haight Photographs by Doug Rosa

From top: Bulgari’s 18k yellow gold, pearl and diamond necklace, price available upon request, at Bulgari, 800.BVLGARI, bulgari.com; Tiffany & Co’s platinum, conch pearl and shell, and diamond brooch, $140,000, at Tiffany & Co., 800.526.0649; Van Cleef & Arpels’s platinum, Tahitian pearl and diamond ring, $83,000, at Van Cleef & Arpels, 877.VANCLEEF, vancleef-arpels.com; Cynthia Bach’s platinum, conch pearl and diamond brooch, $130,000, at Neiman Marcus Precious Jewels Salon, 617.536.3660.
The wedding mainstay gets an exotic twist.Whether they fall into the something old, new or borrowed camp, pearls are the fail-safe ladylike wedding-day adornment. But they’re no longer just for traditionalists. Tiffany & Co.’s conch and diamond chrysanthemum brooch works the dramatic side of flora, carved as it is  with petals set to move en tremblant. Cynthia Bach deploys a conch pearl to create a wearable objet d’art, serving as both pendant and brooch. At Van Cleef & Arpels the message is think big, as with a ring boasting a huge gray Tahitian pearl flanked by heart-shaped diamonds. And Bulgari indulges in the opulence of a choker in which pearls play against gold  and pavé diamonds—certainly worthy of the phrase “tohave and to hold.”By Priya Rao Photograph by Doug Rosa Styled by Talya Cousins
