CRAZY – Paule KA

Our journey into the land of crystal shoes will begin with those of Paule Ka for a special edition of the French magazine Stiletto. Crystals sparkle all over this shoe: embracing the entire platform, heels mixing with a funny teacup design and modern materials like plastic and patent leather.
This pair brings together everything that is part of crazy shoe creations for summer 2007. Designers such as Balenciaga and Paule Ka used shoes as a major pole of their creativity and exercised great freedom when designing these high heels. From futuristic to extraordinary, from classical to absolutely unwearable: these shoes are the top of haute couture shoe extravagancy and simply fascinating.

MOVING BOWLS - Beatrix Ong

Referred to by Shoo Magazine “the new Jimmy Choo”, the London-based designer Beatrix Ong has certainly earned this honorary title. With shoes that are innovative yet elegant, versatile yet classic, dainty yet incredibly wearable, she appears capable of moving to the top echelons of the design world…
With her ISADORA crystal shoe, Beatrix Ong imagines two crystal bowls sewn inside the leather of the shoe and that are slightly mobile. The bowls come on a retro chic platform in blue or pink dots. The platform is completely covered with the shoe’s material for a perfectly uniform aspect – typical of this internationally recognized brand appreciated by discerning women who understand true luxury.

DELICATE - Anne Valérie Hash

A classical and subtler way to wear crystal comes in the form of Paris Haute couture brand Anne Valérie Hash’s footwear. Ms. Hash launched her first shoe collection three seasons ago and her current Fall-Winter 2007/2008 designs are very feminine and delicate with lovely crystal detailing. Especially the pumps called “Mila” which promise to become a “must” for classic fashion lovers who don’t look for exaggerated models. The wooden heel fits perfectly to the crystal application for an ensemble reminiscent of soft nature paintings.

With this last creation we wind up our visit to the land of crystal shoes. Now, every type of crystal fan can find the right shoe to go with her personality and fashion imperatives!

Bespoke Style for 2007/2008
The Muse theme celebrates strident yet romantic women who are confident to interweave classicism and art deco with simplicity.

Reminiscent of the debut du siècle period, it features drapes and pleats under volume and sculpture. The Muse takes aestheticism as her inspirational motif and crystals blend into a variety of materials to become an integral part of the overall look.

Cult comic figure Tank Girl has come of age: her high-tech glamour influences futuristic Android silhouettes, shapes and graphics.Sharp silhouettes and sculptural details keep things edgy, while crystallized, armour-like jewellery fuses with organic forms. Rounded, padded, looped and puffed shapes add a feminine touch as new synergies emerge between couture elements and functional sports-tech wear.
The intuitive Nomad’s softly deconstructed shapes are supported by shamanistic myths and symbols.

Her single garment capes and coats are warm and functional and smatterings of sober, mineral-hued crystal worked into fabrics and materials provide protective sculptural volume.

The Diva has strength, attitude and a sharp edge. With the knowingness of a modern geisha, her subtle directness has the air of an Eighties Supermodel.Crystallized origami expresses her desire for sculptural design. The look is softened by adornments of red and pinkish crystal gradients as Asian symbols mesh with a hint of Western cheekiness.

Our metamorphosed Creature loves to display her glossy, insect-like characteristics. Crystals on her jewelry and sculptured gowns adorn her like a shimmering carapace.

Dark gold and bronze ambience are inspired by Art Nouveau and crystal is her glittering camouflage that deflects the glances of curious admirers.
